The Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Gas, suite of schemes have been developed in collaboration with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines. It is a passport scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.

Course summary and requirements
The SHEA Gas is designed for individuals, who require access to operational sites within the gas industry, both permanent and temporary, al all levels including operatives, supervisors and management.
The SHEA gas comprises of 9 modules – Modules 1 – 6 from SHEA Core which are relevant for all utility industries and support workplace practice in relation to health, safety and environmental law. Modules 14, 15 & 16 are specific to the UK Gas Industry. It is designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness. Individuals must successfully complete training and assessment for all 9 modules. This course does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.
Assessments at the end of the course will be an: Multiple Choice classroom test and must pass to receive the SHEA Gas registration (CSCS Card) valid for 5 years.
SHEA is a CSCS Partner scheme, meaning SHEA registration allows access to CSCS controlled sites for the purposes of utilities work. There is no additional requirement to conduct a touch- screen test or apply separately for a CSCS card, certification from the course will award the delegate with a CSCS certified card by EUSR.
